Stage Crew
In this one semester class you will be learning what it takes to create a theatre production. You will learn to design lights, set, costumes, props, posters, etc. Not only will you design, you will also build and create your designs for the school musical. After the musical is over you will be choosing a play and will do a design (set, makeup, costume, etc) as your final project.
Class Rules:
1. Channel The Crazy: Drama has a lot of times when we are allowed to move around, be loud, energetic, and a little bit crazy. We are allowed have those times/activities as long as we save our crazy energy for them and keep it under control during instruction time.
2. Be respectful at all times to all people, places, things, and ideas.
3. Be willing to take risks.

Hall Passes:
Students will be given two hall passes per term. If a student does not have a hall pass, he/she may use the hall pass for 1 participation point. Any hall passes not used by the end of the term may be turned in for 2 participation points each.

- Assignments: assignments must be neatly written or typed and turned in on time.
- Participation: This is a participation/performance based class. Students will receive 4 participation points each day for participating in activities, discussions, and rehearsals. Participating in theatre requires professionalism, so drama students will be expected to act professionally; points lost in this way may not be made up. Participation points may be lost for breaking rules and behaving unprofessionally. Points will be lost for tardies, unexcused absences, and choosing not to participate. If an absence is excused, participation points may be made up by leading the warm-up in class or participating in another drama related activity that has been approved by Miss Stubbs.
Requirements:
- Willingness to work hard and cooperate with classmates
- Pencil, notebook
- Work/Paint clothes and closed toed shoes for when we work onstage (these can be stored in the drama room)
Assignments:
Besides working on the production of the musical you will be doing the following:
- Pass safety test in order to use equipment and tools.
- Required Saturday build day -Saturday, November 5 Lunch will be provided
- If you cannot attend this, I need to know ASAP and you will need to attend 3 after school rehearsals to work on the set, props, etc.
- Attend a play/musical and critique the designs, set, lights and sound. (Due by end of 1st term)
- Participation is huge! The final grade is based on completing projects by the due dates AND Participation and hard work.
